I’ve asked AI for ten general questions about myself. Five are standard, and five are a bit more random.
- Where were you born and raised, and how has your hometown influenced who you are today?
- I was born in Oxford, Ohio, and raised in Connersville, Indiana. I always considered it to be a “small town”. But with only one high school in the county, my graduating class had around 300 people, which is probably bigger than most. I lived the first two decades of my life on the same street, in the same house. My grandparents and extended family members lived in town as well, and I got to grow up in close proximity to them all. Connersville made me love small towns and rural America. The area had been hard hit economically, but the people were good, and Christian, family values weren’t uncommon there, as they seem to be in other places.

- What sparked your interest in your current career or passion, and how did you get started?
- I’m a pharmacist, just like my grandfather, and several other family members before me. Grandpa (Howard Eldridge) bought a pharmacy in the early 1960’s that became the “family business”, and it was a big part of our world. I love my Grandpa dearly, and my love for him made me want to be a pharmacist too.

- Can you describe your personality in a few words, and how do you think others perceive you?
- I’m more introverted now than I used to be, and I’m probably softer than I used to be too. I’ve got a somewhat dry sense of humor, and I quote movies as a second language. I would hope that people when people see me, they see a God-fearing man who lives out his faith.

- What are your favorite activities or hobbies outside of work that bring you joy and relaxation?
- Most of my time is spent with my wife, Emily, and our two dogs, Milo and Mackey. I enjoy all things related to Purdue sports (perhaps enjoy isn’t always the best word…), I love exploring new places, and have fun playing board and card games.

- Is there a specific life philosophy or guiding principle that you live by? If so, what is it?
- I’ll quote my grandfather, who quoted Jesus: “To whom much is given, much shall also be required.”

- If you could have any animal as a sidekick, real or fictional, what would it be and why?
- I’ve got two! Milo and Mackey. They’re always down for adventure, whether it’s across town or across the country to Yellowstone.

- If you were a superhero, what would your power be?
- Once per day, I’d like to be able to go back in time by just one minute. Or perhaps I’d like to be able to sing four-part harmony at one time.

- What’s the weirdest or most unusual talent you possess that not many people know about?
- My wife tells me I’m good at remembering the most random facts and trivia.

- If you could travel to any era of time for a day, where would you go and what would you do?
- I’m going to take the obvious answer off the table here and keep it secular. I can’t really think of an era of human history that sticks out. In general, humans are now what they’ve always been and always will be, and the cultural and architectural accomplishments of humanity always pale in comparison to the handiwork of the Creator. I think I’d just like to roam the world in any era of time to see the dramatic landscapes that God has created, which is, coincidentally, what I enjoy doing now.

- If your life was a movie, what genre would it be, and who would play you in the film?
- Comedy/Drama. There’s always some humor to be found in life, and most of the time I find it. Old school actors: Charlton Heston or Gregory Peck. Modern Actors: Paul Rudd or Ryan Reynolds.
